Remote HMI 1.3

Remote HMI is an application designed for real-time remote monitoring and control of the C-more HMI (Human Machine Interface) product line offered by Automationdirect.com. To use this app effectively, a C-more panel that supports remote connectivity is necessary.

Note: Vital steps for optimizing C-more remote access performance for the EA9 Series panels:

1. Update the C-more EA9 Panel firmware to version 6.31 or later.
2. Ensure that the C-more project display resolution is configured to the native resolution of the C-more panel. This adjustment can be made in the programming software under Panel Manager settings.
3. Refer to the app note on the support.automationdirect.com webpage for more detailed information (App Note AN-EA-017).

Main Features of this Application:

• Monitor and control screen operations of the C-more panel with interface responsiveness akin to directly touching the panel.
• Save jpeg screen captures for review, email, and printing purposes.
• Utilize the iPhone or Apple Zoom feature to focus on specific screen objects and save screen captures when necessary.
• Benefit from Multilevel Logon Security offering three Remote Access user accounts that can be configured and stored in the panel project, enabling up to five remote users to be connected simultaneously.
• Enjoy Multilevel Access Control, empowering each account to be configured with varying levels of access such as Full control access, View only access, and View and Screen change only access.
• Customize User Access Control by defining internal tags to tailor Remote access for each account. These tags can trigger alarms, events, or notifications to alert local operators when a remote user is connected. Additionally, Disable/Enable Tags can be assigned to a switch in the C-more project to grant local operators control over enabling or disabling remote access for security or safety reasons.

Requirements to utilize the Remote HMI App:

• iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch iOS version 4.2 or later.
• C-more Panel with Ethernet support.
• C-more Panel firmware Version 2.73 or later must be installed. Note that when upgrading from a version older than 2.4, a factory reset is required to add the updated “Remote Access” HTML link. Firmware updates are performed using the C-more programming software. It is advised against upgrading firmware remotely.
• C-more Programming Software Version 2.73 or later is mandatory to program and configure a C-more panel for Remote HMI App support.
• The Remote Access feature must be enabled in the C-more panel project.
• The C-more Panel must have compatible network settings with the device running the Remote HMI App, or it should be reachable from the Internet.
• While password protection can be configured for Remote Access on the C-more panel, connecting it to an Enterprise network or the Internet poses security risks. For enhanced security, a secure and encrypted VPN connection is highly recommended if Internet accessibility is necessary. A VPN (Virtual Private Network) ensures that only authorized users are permitted to connect and secures data against interception, significantly reducing unauthorized access risks and malicious activities.
